How do you think, as a manager, you would be able to lead in such a way that you would minimize stress for your employees?

Stress can occur when there is a mismatch between the job demands, requirements of role and supports available. Some of stress symptoms are drop in performance level, depression, anxiety and sleeping difficulties.

Pressure is unavoidable due to the work demands and pressure keep employees motivated and alert. However when the pressure becomes excessive it leads to stress. Stress can seriously damage employees’ health and effect on their performance. On the other hand it can be said that person to person stress enduring level is different depending on the available resources and personal characteristics.

In addition to the facts that mentioned above, there are some other factors which cause stress. They are;
• Low salaries
• Excessive workloads
• Poor support from subordinates
• Limited potential growth or advancement
• Work is not challenging

Manager should examine employees and work place relationship in order to make sure that workplace is fit for the employees to perform better. Nowadays stress has become a major issue to the organizations and managers always make sure to reduce the stress level of the employees.

There are many ways to ease the stress in the workplace and some of that are listed below.
• Set clear goals
By setting clear goals, employees do not have to think hard and concentrate on the matters at hand.
• Meditation
Meditation in the office is becoming more common in the organizations and this will ease the employees mind.
• Allow flexible hours and remote working
Companies hire right people as they know they can do the work properly in timely manner. There is no need to fix a specific time period to work daily basis in the office just due to the fact that office facilitates getting a job done. Organizations can provide flexible work hours to their employees where employees feel freedom and ease.
