Instructions:
Part I: (1 Page)
1. The student will use the “Dress Code” policy as the policy that is being violated.
2. Create a scenario-based upon the policy that has been violated; as the manager while speaking with the employee you notice that the employee is affected by the following barrier: Engaging in selective listening. The employee is not in the proper dress code of a flight attendant because during the new employee seminar, the employee was not actively listening.
3. Create a solution for the barrier so you are able to discuss the policy violated

Part II: (1 ½ Page)
1. Conduct research on active listening to counsel employees who have been ineffective in performance, compliance, or general understanding of their work related duties.
2. Construct the essay in APA format.
3. Use Galileo to retrieve two (2) scholarly source to aid you with the completion of this assignment. Do not use Wikipedia or “.com” addresses. Reputable websites include those that are from a database (i.e. ERIC, Academic Search Premier, etc.).
4. Cite all the information. Please do not commit plagiarism. Plagiarism is stealing somebody’s work or idea; copying a person’s idea or written work with claims that it is original. Plagiarism is grounds to fail a student and should not be taken lightly.
5. Use complete sentences in a logical format. The paper must be comprised, at minimum five paragraphs with a minimum of seven sentences each.
6. Third person language must be used.
The paper must include:
1. In-text citations, title page and reference page that follow APA format
2. An overview of active listening (include the application of the technique)
3. An explanation of the negative counterpart of active listening that should be avoided during a counseling session
4. An explanation on how active listening should generate positive change within a troubled employee if used consistently and effectively
5. Would you consider using this method for counseling an employee under your leadership? Why or why not?
