I imagine that you already know that "Art" is a term that can mean many things besides the fairly narrow set of meanings people give to it before they have done any investigations. In fact, I would suggest that what the public knows about Art is only a small fraction of the possibilities for Art.

The fact is, people make and enjoy Art for as many different reasons, and in as many ways, as you can imagine, and some that you cannot (yet) imagine.

Here is what YOU do:
Search around on the internet and see what you can find by searching for strange art, or weird art, or bizarre performance, or any other search heading you can think of that will take you to artistic pieces or performances that you may or may not think should be categorized as "art." For instance, you could search for "underwater art" or "hidden art" or "seaweed art." The idea is to use unusual adjectives to try and stay away from the obvious choices like "funny" or "spiritual" or "beautiful" or "happy" and "sad." All of those are way too easy to think of, and when we search with easy or familiar search terms we get -- surprise! -- easy and familiar results. This assignment is about getting different, never before imagined results.

After you search and view for awhile do the following:
1. Cut and paste the links to two chosen pieces directly into your response post. NOTHING X-RATED PLEASE!
2. Write descriptive responses to the pieces that you have chosen. In writing your responses tell us what adjectives you used to get your results. Then tell us how your results are useful for expanding stretching, challenging ordinary run-of-the-mill concepts of art. In other words, help us to see how we may appreciate your samples (remember that word, appreciate???)
Provide 100 words for each of the two (2) responses. You can write it as one long paragraph, or two shorter ones!
