Try the flu tea recipe and comment on the effect that it has on you. Propose theories as to why this remedy may be useful during acute colds and flus.
Note: If you have a problem with any of the ingredients please omit this ingredient from the recipe

Flu Tea
• 4+ cloves garlic, peeled, crushed and chopped [more if you can bear it]
• 2cm ginger root, peeled and chopped or ½ tsp ginger powder
• 1 chopped chilli or pinch of cayenne
• (optional) 1cm grated fresh turmeric or 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
• Lemons
• Honey [preferably raw or manuka honey]
• 3 cups water
• Simmer the garlic, ginger and chilli in the water for 5-10 minutes.
• Serve each cup with the juice of ½ a lemon and a teaspoon of honey.
The tea should be quite heating so don’t hold back too much on the spicier ingredients. People at risk of febrile convulsions as a result of overheating should not take this tea.

HI I haven't tried the Flu Tea as yet, however my son has just come down with a cold so will try it out on him.
Another really great Cold & Flu tea is
1 spring onion
Ginger
Cut the white of the spring onion and about a thumb nail of ginger. Place in a teapot and add boiling water and allow to seep. Drink 2 cups just before bed. Have every night while symptoms are present.
The concept of this tea is it create heat within the body and subsequently sweats out the virus, however it's not like a fever heat it's more a natural sweat. If you have this tea before the Cold / Flu gets into your chest and take hold, ( I have been advised by a naturopath this is about 3 days from when you first get the symptoms) then it won't take hold and will only take a few days to recover. I have had this tea numerous times and have given it to my family, we haven't had a severe flu the last couple of years.
If you try it let me know how it goes.
Once I've tried the above tea I will post my findings.

I believe the Flu Tea recipe may work as the ingredients all have anti-inflammatory ingredients, these help boost the immune system and fight the infection. They also create warmth in the body which would help the body sweat out the virus.
