a. Required- a description of two characteristics that have two traits each.

b. Required- a description of a monohybrid cross for one of the characteristics mentioned above. In this description, you should include how you set up the cross and how you determined which trait was dominant and which was recessive. For this monohybrid cross, you should also include data from the cross you set up to support your conclusions. The monohybrid cross should have data for both the F1 (minimum of 20 individuals) and F2 (minimum of 80 individuals) generations.

c. Required- an explanation of a dihybrid cross that you performed between organisms that have the two characteristics described in "a". You should show the Punnett Squares for the Parental and F1 crosses. You should have the predicted phenotypic outcomes of each and report data (minimum of 200 individuals) that you obtained from your crosses.

d. Required- a chi-square that tests your expected outcomes from the dihybrid cross and your observed data. Your observed data should have at least 200 individuals. You do not need to show the chi-square work, but you do need to report the chi-square value (which should not just be zero), the degrees of freedom and the p-value. You should then explain whether you accept or reject the hypothesis that the two characteristics you were discussing are assorting independently from each other and why.

e. Optional- an explanation of a monohybrid cross for the other characteristic (so the one not described in “b”). In this description, you should include how you set up the cross and how you determined which trait was dominant and which was recessive.
