Instructions:
As part of the self-assessment related to your mid-semester in-basket assessment you were introduced to the following knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) important to business professionals who develop and use financial information:
- Analytical/problem solving skills
- Use of computerized spreadsheets
- Understanding the business
- Understanding the bottom-line implications of day-to-day business and accounting decisions
- Writing skills
- Familiarity with business processes

The following in-basket criteria were developed with these KSAs in mind:
- Selects appropriate accounting concepts to respond to information needs.
- Uses specific accounting concepts to develop accurate information for decision making.
- Accurately interprets and explains information.
- Effectively organizes quantitative information for a business audience.
- Written memos meet effective writing criteria.

As part of your mid-semester self-assessment you responded to the following question:

Identify at least one criterion that reflects an aspect of your performance that you want to improve this semester and identify its relationship to the KSAs.
Review both your self-assessment and instructor feedback from the mid-semester in-basket assessment. Consider this information together with your performance on the final in-basket to answer the self-assessment questions below.

1. What aspect of your performance did you identify for improvement in your mid-semester self-assessment?

2. Select one in-basket item from your final in-basket assessment and explain how you met or did not meet your self-improvement goal. Provide specific evidence to support your judgment.

3. Use either the in-basket item you selected above or another item from your final in-basket to respond to the following questions (you may want to refer to writing criteria in the MBA Student Handbook):

a. How do you introduce your audience to the topic you are discussing in your memo?
b. How do you develop and/or support your main point?
c. How do you develop a meaningful conclusion for your audience?
d. How do you ensure that the financial information your provide can be understood and be useful to your audience?
