Case Analysis Presentation

Presentation should follow the following format:
1. Title Slide
2. Company Situation/Problem Description
• Briefly describe the situation for which you are developing the case. This situation may include multiple issues/problems.
• What are the vision, mission, and values?
• What “industry” is your company competing in, and how is this industry changing? Who are your most important competitors? Why?
• What are your company’s resources and capabilities? What is its core competency? Can its resources and capabilities form the basis of a competitive advantage? Why or why not?
3. Problem Addressing
• Clearly describe the specific problem.
• Formulation: Focus on Business, Corporate, and Global Strategies
• What is the business model? How is it currently making money?
• Which business model would you recommend?
• Implementation: Focus on Recommendations and How to Implement Them
4. Recommendations
• Make at least three recommendations regarding the way the situation could be resolved/improved.
• Why do you believe these recommendations will resolve/improve the problem?
• What is your justification?
5. Action Plan
For each recommendation:
• Develop an objective to resolve/improve the problem
• Develop the action steps necessary to meet the objective—Be Specific
o Prioritize your recommendations and make sure they can be carried out in an acceptable time frame with the available resources.
o Support each recommendation with persuasive argument as to why it should result in improved company performance.
o Review your recommended action plan to see if it addresses all of the problems and issues you selected.
6. Justification
• Support your action plan
• Include why you believe this strategy will be successful
• Utilize strategic analysis techniques such as Porter’s Five Forces, Value Chain, SWOT, or other tools that are in the text
7. Outcomes
• Be thorough - What will be the impact on the company? Why?
• What might cause problems?
• Are there potential unintended consequences?
• What are the global implications?
