In the first paragraph, cite the name of the article, the author, the source, and the date. Then briefly summarize the essence of the article (who, what, when, why, where, how?). As the final sentence in this paragraph answer the question: “Why is this article a good choice to help you learn more about promotion (or price, if that “P” is applicable)?”

In a second paragraph, if your article relates to Promotion/IMC, briefly discuss the promotional or IMC objectives of the brand mentioned. What major message theme(s) (i.e., positioning) does the product/service attempt to communicate? (You don't need to describe the ads or commercials, just the theme or positioning statement. However, by doing additional research, you can always attach an advertising hot link to your response if you want me to see an ad).

In a third paragraph, discuss any of the following that are applicable:
• the promotion "blend” (e.g., the type of advertising used; what media; what copy thrust)?
• the type and number of salespeople.
• any special sales promotions used to motivate channel members, customers, or employees
• evidence of a push and pull strategy for promotion? What makes you think so?
• recent positive publicity for promotional efforts (i.e., fundraising for disaster relief, sponsorship of a good cause, etc.)?
• examples of interactive media?

These questions (and any more you care to address based on your careful reading of chapters 13, 14 and 15), should give you some ideas about how to best tackle this part of your final Course Learning Project (CLP).

If you find an article that deals with Pricing and choose to write about it and its relationship to marketing, follow the same directions as above for paragraph #1. Then in two or more subsequent paragraphs, do the following:
• describe the nature of demand for the product or service mentioned or implied in the article.
• discuss any price sensitivity that might exist.
• Identify if any substitutes for the product or service.
• determine what the markup chain is within the channel (i.e., amount and number of margins from intermediaries; hint: you may need to talk to a vendor).
• decide if there is price flexibility. If so, how so?
• determine what kinds of adjustments can be made to list price (i.e., geographic terms, discounts, allowances, etc.).
• ask and answer if there is anything else about "price" that is suggested in this article that we might need to know?
