Term Project Guidelines

There are countless topics that are current and relevant to the rapidly changing culture within organizations. Today’s Organizational Behavior techniques and strategies are very much influenced by society and economics. With the rapid growth of global commerce and electronic technology, it can be expected, that such techniques will be based on managing highly knowledgeable workers who provide skilled services. While this is true, research papers on Organizational Behavior focus on techniques that work to benefit the people and the organization as well.

The Task
• Select one of the topics below. Gather information about the topic from (at least) four (4) Sources. Each source must be appropriately cited following the APA-citation standards for writing.
• Write an expository paper that discusses the problems that currently exist. Talk about the background and history that has given rise to the topic; then discuss some of the techniques or strategies that are being implemented or are planned to address the issue.

3. Organizational Violence: A historical account
4. Do men hate women bosses? (Why)
5. LGBT organizations
6. Morality and leadership

Format of the Paper
A. A Cover Page on which you list the following information –
• The Title and Section number of this course
• Winter 2017 Semester
• Title of this term project (Use the title of the topic on which your essay has been written)
• Prepared by: (First and last) Name and Student ID Number

B. Table of Contents – Each section of your report should be preceded by a descriptive Header that generally gives the Reader an idea about what that section will be discussing. Your table of contents should list the pages on which each one of these sections appears.

Body of the Paper:
Section I: An Introduction – This should include a clear and concise Thesis statement and a brief overview concerning the chronology of what your paper will cover including the ‘take-aways’ that the Reader will be experience.

Section II: Body of the report
• Body paragraphs that include evidential support (whether factual, logical, statistical, or anecdotal). Each paragraph should be limited to the exposition of one general idea. This will allow for clarity and direction throughout the essay. What is more, such conciseness should be able to create an ease of readability for the Reader. It is important to note that each paragraph in the body of the essay must have some logical connection to the thesis statement in the opening paragraph.
• A bit of creativity! Though creativity and artfulness are not always associated with essay writing, it is an art form nonetheless. Try not to get stuck on the formulaic nature of expository writing at the expense of writing something interesting. Remember, though you may not be crafting the next great novel, you are attempting to leave a lasting impression on the person evaluating your essay.
• A conclusion that does not simply restate the thesis, but re-addresses it in light of the evidence provided. This is the portion of the essay that will leave the most immediate impression on the mind of the reader. Therefore, it must be effective and logical. Do not introduce any new information into the conclusion; rather, synthesize and come to a conclusion concerning the information presented in the body of the essay.
• Works Cited page on which is listed the full APA citations that are associated with each in- text citation that pertains to the Sources that were used in your paper. (Note: Each reference listed on your paper will be checked by the Turnitin drop box for validity).
