Introduction

Your work plan is the final step in the “formal planning” of your project. With it, you and your team should know exactly what has to be done, who will do it, when it will be completed, and how much it will cost. Work plans also include a thorough examination of risks and contingencies.
Your assignment is to complete your project’s work plan. This includes the work breakdown structure (WBS), the responsibility matrix, a detailed schedule and budget, and preliminary examination of risks and contingencies.

Note
Once your Open Learning Faculty Member has approved your project work plan, please obtain sign-off from your project sponsor.

Instructions:
1. Complete your project’s work plan. Your work plan should include a:
• Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
• Responsibility matrix.
• Detailed schedule. The schedule should be structured as a Gantt chart. You can create this chart in Excel or use a Project Management Software package (if not Excel, ensure to save it as PDF).
• Detailed budget. You can create a budget by hand or use an Excel spreadsheet.

2. List the potential risks and contingencies that you need to prepare for.

3. Submit the project plan and list of risks and contingencies in one package to your Open Learning Faculty Member. Please remember that MLA citation style is required

4. Obtain sign-off on the project work plan from your project sponsor.
