Introduction

Combinatorial chemistry is a powerful way of quickly testing many chemical compounds to find ones that may be good for a particular chemical reaction. The working idea is to take a chemical that you know reacts with your molecule of interest and find as many chemicals similar to that chemical as you can find and do an initial screen to see if any of the chemicals react with each other. This way you can eliminate many compounds that are clearly non-reactive and narrow the search down to chemicals that definitely have a reaction.
