Background & Plan Objectives:
The Acme Health Administration & Information Department (HAID) currently occupies space that was designed for more limited use over fifteen (15) years ago. Health care executive management has set as its mission to “provide state-of-the art health care in an environment attractive to potential clients, comfortable for staff, and conducive to high efficiency operations.” Recently, the board of directors has approved initiatives to upgrade facilities in line with this mission. A HAID facility upgrade is among the highest priority efforts.
In working with the Director and his senior staff, additional design priorities were established and, hopefully, appropriately addressed in the floor plan presented:
1. The environment should be relaxed but clearly professional and business-like
2. Assistant directors should be located near their own staff to facilitate close supervision and continual communication
3. Staff with the same or similar functions should be in close proximity to each other to allow information sharing, congeniality, and mutual support
4. Equipment should be state-of-the-art, but not extravagant or beyond current and anticipated business needs...
