Lastly, financial aid is a quality which may increase its chances at poverty alleviation in Haiti. This can be achieved by providing grants and loans to the Haitians. (“Can Small Loans Reduce Poverty?”, 2011) mentioned, “Small loans, somewhere in the neighbourhood of $100 to $500 dollars, are an increasingly popular weapon in the fight to reduce poverty. Called microcredit, institutions dole out these monetary advances to help extremely poor people engage in successful entrepreneurship and improve their quality of life.” The more loans made available for citizens, can be a way to seek entrepreneurship as well, furthermore increasing productivity and the economic growth of the country. In that way, citizens can have a better standard of living and be able to provide and build for their families. According to Rossouw (2017), “These households will be destitute if they do not receive grant payments in a timely fashion. They will not be able to buy food as households receiving grants typically don’t have savings. To survive they have to spend whatever they receive.” Many citizens depend on grants such as pension, disability payment and child support grant. These grants enable persons to have a stable and healthier lifestyle by being able to purchase basic necessities. The more grants given to the citizens who require it, can diminish the poverty level of Haiti.
