The allowable maximum angular misclosure depends on the purpose of the survey as given in the Table 4.
If the precision of the survey is fourth order, the error is within the limit. However, if the precision is geodetic, secondary or tertiary, the error is out of the limit. Then these readings cannot be used. The traverse survey should be repeated to get accurate results.
The allowable maximum error can be achieved easily by levelling the Total station on the station correctly. When handling the Total station, anyone should be careful to check whether the instrument is levelled on the ground.
Even though the line lengths of the traverse polygon are measured, it cannot be checked for correct lengths because of the lack of a bearing measurement. Measuring the Whole Circle
