It can be researched and a suitable design can be made. The second part is the design has to be analyzed and further optimized so as to get a better design and results. The screenshots of the CAD drawing should be included in the report. Also the screenshots of the analysis of the design before and after optimizations are required. Abstract
A torque wrench is used to tighten bolts and is able to exert the required amount of torque which in many applications is critical. Of many types available the beam type is the simplest which operates using the fact that the maximum deflection of a beam is proportional to the moment applied. So by measuring the deflection the torque can be determined. In this paper a simple beam type torque wrench has been designed primarily using theoretical analysis. Then a CAD model has been prepared and subjected to FEA using ANSYS. The design was optimized by adjusting the dimensions.
