Finite Element Method Problem 1 Construct the linear shape functions of the following triangular element. Compute the values of the shape functions and their derivatives with respect to x and y at the center M of the side AB and the center C of the triangle. Problem 2 Consider a triangular plate as shown in the figure. The side BC is fixed to a rigid wall. The point A is loaded with a force Q. Determine the displacement at the center of the plate using a one-element model. Assume the thickness of the plate is t. Hint: The elastic strain energy stored in the structure should equal to the work done by load Q.
