16-1 A power grid has a hypothetical daily load demand curve that may be represented by half a cosine wave with maximun Pm at time 0 and zero at 24 hours. A 1000-MW powerplant is available for bascload operation with a storage system that ha's a turnaround efficiency of 0.65. Find the peak load Pm, in megawatts, that can be accommodated by the system and the time at which the system switches from generation to storage. For Problem 16-1, consider time zero (r=0) to be at noon when the peak load (Pm) is reached, and make the load equal to zero at midnight, that is, Pload(0) = Pm and hrs) = 0.
