Note: The project proposal includes: (1) a topic description (revised, if necessary, from your topic-selection report); (2) a thesis statement; and (3) an annotated bibliography of five primary and four secondary sources. Provide the proper bibliographic citation and "hot" URLs to each resource.

Instructions for preparing your project proposal:

Create a separate Word document with your name, the date, and the title. Remember to place your name on the paper. Attach the Project Proposal to your Assignments folder.

Double-space the paper and number the pages in the upper-right corner. Use a 12-point font, either Times New Roman or Courier New.

Part 1: Topic. Provide a description of your topic. (Use the corrected copy of your descriptive “Topic Selection” paragraph.) Write complete, clear sentences, at least 100 words.

Part 2. Thesis statement. Articulate a thesis statement. A thesis statement consists of one to two sentences that answer your research question and provide a "road map" to the argument that will support your interpretation.

Part 3: Annotated Bibliography of 5 Primary and 4 Secondary Sources. “Annotated” means you write a 3-5 full sentence description of each source. These entries may be single-spaced, but double-space between each entry. Separate the primary sources from the secondary sources.

Primary Sources: 5
List at least five primary sources first, with an annotated three to five sentence description of each source and a direct URL "hot" link to the e‑resource to enable your professor to check it. All sources must be listed according to the bibliographic format of the Chicago Manual of Style. Write in complete sentences and describe each source in detail.

Secondary Sources: 4
Next, provide an annotated three to five sentence description of each scholarly secondary source, including articles from scholarly history journals or books. List at least four scholarly secondary sources. Write complete sentences and give a synopsis of each article or book. Include a description of the author. List these sources according to the bibliographic format of the Chicago Manual of Style. Provide a "hot" URL so your professor can access the source.
