Introduction

In crime scene evaluation and court processes, expert witnesses play an instrumental role by guiding the criminal Justice through tailoring facts as guided by detachment and prudence.
As such, expert witnesses depict skills, experience, and proficiency in specific issues beyond that of an average person.

Additionally, the witness use pre-determined policies, which guide their functions. The purpose of this paper is to undertake a detailed examination of the role of an expert witness in court processes as well as examine the various policies that govern their actions.
Additionally, the paper investigates the ethics tenets, through which court achieves impartiality through objectivity.

Expert Witness

According to Kott (2011), an expert witness is a professional, who by the virtue of skills, knowledge, and expertise beyond the nonprofessional acts as a reliable source of legal and official opinion backed by evidence.

Thus, the main purpose of an expert witness is to provide a fact based opinion as a qualified individual who has prior experience with similar scenes and unique attributes of the case involved (Kott, 2011).
Therefore, an expert witness is an individual, who through policies and institutional recognition develops a trustworthy and reliable opinion through evidence evaluation.

Thus, the personnel recognized by a court processes offers a less subjective opinion through examination of behavioural patterns, the degree of sanity, financial positions, crime scene evaluation and other case facts. As such, an expert witness can be a doctor,
