Intervention

The interventions of the 5-year plan to assist in the DMC reduction in the Juvenile Justice System in New Mexico.
The following intervention plan will provide a reduction effort to the DMC in the Judicial Districts 1, 2, and 3.

The intervention will include the following: (1) Data Review and Decision-Point Mapping, (2) Diversity & Cultural Competency Training, (3) Community-Based Juvenile Detention Alternatives, Removing Juvenile System and Judicial Decision-Making Subjectivity, Increasing Family Involvement, and Cultivating State Leadership to Legislate the Juvenile Justice System and Judicial Change.

Data Review and Decision-Point Mapping
Information audit and choice point mapping reliably rise as basic starting strides in DMC decrease endeavors, for these instruments regularly set the phase for the change procedure (Nellis, 2005).

"Information distinguish what DMC looks like and how it works in a framework, without falling back on accounts or candidly charged open deliberations over individual predisposition" (Hoytt et al., 2002, p. 14).
For instance, in Santa Clause Cruz Region, California information were assembled on a quarterly premise by the probation division to decide precisely who was being captured, confined, and put in projects, and to survey where minority-over-representation happened.

By social event information at every choice point, organizations could outline the framework seemed to fizzle minority youth. They found that 64% of youth in confinement in 1997 were Hispanic.
