As will be seen, significant work has been done on the effects of strength training and high-intensity interval training on performance in cycling, though not without complications connected to the possibly confounding factors of training status, prior and current training protocols practiced by cyclists, and the like. Additionally, recent efforts to develop testing and predictive protocols for performance are also discussed.
