Methods
The CVD study in Louisa and Buckingham was started with the key objective of assessing prevalence of heart diseases or Cardio Vascular Diseases and relating them with risk factors of BMI, Age and sex among other variables. A crossectional study design of adult participants was built and used for data collection and sampling. A minimum sample size was calculated using the design effect formula taking care of current obesity prevalence and precision levels as well non response rates. A representative sample of 403 participants aged between 19 and 92 years were selected in to the study. They were invited and subjected to a clinical examination where their body measurements and blood samples taken. Clinical samples from 234 females and 169 males were generated.
