For the checklist section (a-d), please conduct appropriate procedures to check the following assumptions and run analyses. Make note of the method and include any output that you will need to explain your findings. This should be presented in a word document as annotated SPSS output with comments /explanations along the way. Be sure to include relevant output .

Checklist:
Examine the data to be used in the analysis for outliers (univariate and multivariate)

(a) Checking Assumptions (no need to include all of your outputâ€”explain what you did and perhaps include an example)

â€¢ Linear relationships
â€¢ Homoscedasticity

(b) Residual Analysis
Include a residual plot with a description of your analysis of the residuals.

(c) Regression Analyses (include output for final model)
Conduct a multiple regressions to answer the following questions:
(i) Do gender, self-concept, and value of education (all measured at time1) predict student self-reported effort (at time 2) controlling for self-reported effort at time 1?
(ii) Do studentsâ€™ perceptions of teacher interest, teacher caring, and teacher competency predict any additional variance above and beyond the studentsâ€™ personal characteristics?

(d) Diagnostics (be sure the final model output includes part and partial)
â€¢ Is multicollinearity a problem?
â€¢ Examine the patterns in zero-order, part and partial correlations. Briefly comment on any information these values provide.
â€¢ Are there any influential data points?

Please give complete but concise responses to the following questions regarding the analyses you have conducted. Output from the descriptive data as well as the regression models may be helpful in forming your response.

1. Considering only the research question and the descriptives (means/sd/simple correlations), identify at least 2 concerns that are evident before running the main analysis (MR). Describe why they are potential problems for the data analysis plan.

Presentation of Results
Write up your analysis from the standard regression. Use appropriate APA format.

You should include the following in your written report:
Methods:
â€¢ Describe the sample (to the extent that you can) and the variables (descriptives) as you would for an article.
â€¢ Hypotheses or research questions that correspond to the analysis completed.

Results:
â€¢ Preliminary results where you tested the assumptions: how you tested assumptions, what the results revealed, what decisions you made
â€¢ Descriptive statistics: correlations among all variables in the study.
â€¢ Hypothesis testing: results of the hypotheses tested with all necessary supporting information either in paragraph or table format as appropriate.
