Problem 1
James hypothesizes that younger patrons prefer electronic media (DVDs, compact disc, MP3 downloads and/or Podcasts, ect) whereas older patrons prefer the traditional printed ore material. Anderson wants to see if his hunch is true before deciding how to use next year library acquisitions budget. He hires a consultant to conduct a survey of 100 randomly selected library patrons. The patrons are asked whether they favor having more of the library acquisition budget go towards electronic media at the expense of acquiring fewer printed items (“yes response coded 1, “no” response coded 2). The survey asked respondents to place themselves in one of the following groups: young adult patron (coded 1); adult patron (coded 2); and senior citizen patron (coded 3). After conducting a cross- tabulation of these data, what can be director concluded?

Problem 2
The Department of defense is concerned about the number of Harrier crasher. The Air Force argues that the crash result because many of these planes are piloted by marines. The data for this claim are shown in the following table:
