This is a mathematical branch which uses the queue (waiting line) model for estimating the amount of necessary resources when a service must be provided. As its name implies, it involves the study of queue’s parameters for arriving to appropriate business decisions. At the same time, queuing theory represents a valuable research field for academic environment which is capable of offering solutions to real-world problems that can be modeled according to queue’s principles and methods.
