My view on language closely resembles that of Saussure and Wittgenstein. Saussure view on language is that words are a part of speech and adding words together creates a unique union that defines language. A sound-image is a psychological representation of each word. Language becomes the sum of the sound-images. Rules for grammar and dictionary meaning of words aid in the expression of ideas. A concept or idea is born by uniting sound-images together. When a concept and a sound-image are combined it creates a sign. The sign or symbol is known as the signifier (S ,2001). I agree with this view because a sound-image of a word could represent one psychological meaning in one cultures language and a different meaning in a different cultures language....
