 # Moments Of Inertia (Two Perpendicular Rods)

Subject Physics Classical Mechanics

## Question

2 Rods ( AB and CD ) each of length 2 L and mass M are connected in such a way that points B and C connect at right angles to each other. The result is two rods connected at one end and at right angles to each other. The configuration is thus AB/CD where B/C is the right angled joint. Points A and D are the extremities of this right angled " L ". For an axis of rotation vertically upward through A , determine the moment of inertia of this structure.
