Reading Efron’s Chapter 8, I liked reading how the transformation of the early modern Jewish culture was greatly influenced by migration and new inventions like printing (Efron, 2013, p. 210). I believe this is still happening today because we are living in one global village. I think being able to travel and use the internet to experience different cultures is a great thing. This can help us change some of our old attitudes and views of the world. This is important because some of the old beliefs that Efron mentions like geocentrism (Efron, 2013, p. 211), held the scientific and cultural development for many decades. We must not let that happen again!
