Complete a description of two variables that have a positive linear relationship and two variables that have a negative linear relationship in the following research articles. Then, explain the implications on the studies if each of those variables had a curvilinear relationship instead.

This study explored factors associated with physical and sexual wife abuse on a sample of married women aged 15–49 in Kenya.
Positive linear relationship: Variable physical abuse is positively associated with the variable number of children, which implies that women who have more children are more likely to report physical abuse from their husbands. Physical and sexual abuse were measured by a survey constructed from the 2003 Kenya DHS’s domestic violence module (CBS et al. 2003), which is an adapted version of the Conflict Tactics Scale (CTS; Straus & Gelles, 1989). If the variables had a curvilinear relationship instead, the findings would suggest that physical abuse would be more likely to be reported in marriages with more children, but only to a certain number of children. From that number on, women with more children would be less likely to report physical abuse from husbands. This finding would suggest that physical abuse was least likely to be reported in marriages with the smallest and the largest number of children....
