Influence of parenting practices on adolescent achievement: Annotated bibliography

Introduction

To fulfill the purpose of the present study, I selected two qualitative studies, two quantitative inquiries, and two mixed method empirical investigations.
Each set of studies employs distinct methods and designs.

What this means is that every article set presents unique knowledge about the influence of parenting practices on adolescent achievement might.
The research paper that I am anticipating publishing is intended to advance new knowledge concerning the topic under focus.

Therefore, the information that I will draw from each article will assist me to fulfill my objective not only easily but also quickly.
This is the key rationale for selecting the six empirical sources of knowledge.

Quantitative studies

In this study, the purpose was to integrate the findings of 308 empirical inquiries on the link between general parenting aspects and patterns with children and adolescents’ achievement, which was assessed through academic achievement tests or grade point average.

The researchers adopted the use of meta-analysis research methods.
It was revealed that behavioral control, parental responsiveness, authoritative, and autonomy granting parenting styles are more likely to trigger optimal academic achievement, however in a small statistical sense.

Parental psychological control, harsh control, and authoritarian, neglectful, and permissive parenting styles are likely to lower the achievement
