Celebrations and Festivals
One significant celebration among Sikhs is langar, a communal meal where all Sikhs, despite their social status, wealth and origin, sit and eat together. There are eight major festivals in Sikhism. Four of them commemorate events from the lives of Sikh Gurus. The remaining ones include a well-known festival of Diwali, or the Festival of Light, also celebrated by the Hindus.
