The role of patriarchal power structures is being questioned and I think this has posed for how the family is construed, not only in the popular conception of family, as depicted in media and in the popular imagination, but also how we are shifting our expectations of family roles and dynamics from one where patriarchal forms of power are privileged to a different structure where both parents contribute equally to the governance and cohesion of the family unit....
