I found three sites very useful in creating this resume. First, I used “Resume Tips for Teachers” at http://career-advice.monster.com/resumes-cover-letters/resume-writing-tips/resume-tips-for-teachers/article.aspx. This was helpful because it made clear that the resume needs to convey a passion for working with students. The previous teaching experience isn’t just a few lines to fill out, but instead something to describe that makes it seem that the candidate works well with children and is well respected within the teaching community. Highlighting accomplishments is also a tool that works well in resumes, showcasing to the recruiter that the candidate is the right person for the job.
