As a college student I find that I am mainly motivated extrinsic. My extrinsic motivation can be broken down into short-term goals and long term goals. My short-term goals include studying to avoid doing badly on test and to earn good grades. I use pockets of time when I study to avoid having a lot of studying to do all at one time.
