About Jorge

Hi! I possess a B.A. in International Relations from Tec de Monterrey.

During my university years, I was a member of the debating team and as a co-host of a college radio show on pop culture and geeky stuff. I also spent a semester abroad at McGill University in Montreal, Canada specializing in Negotiation Techniques and Ethics & Diversity at the workplace. During my studies abroad, I was an intern at a Start-up called Corpobids, which provided bidding services for venues and conventions.

Shortly after graduating, I worked as a Trade Policy Assistant at the Embassy of Canada in Mexico. I mainly performed analytical tasks on various sources of information related to NAFTA, now USMECA, renegotiations, and supporting the Trade Commissioner Service.

After my contract ended, I completed the Teacher Training Course. I taught English for a short period before moving on to my next job.

I began working for the British Council as a Project Officer for Higher Education and Science & Innovation. I performed operative tasks such as launching and promoting our internationalisation programmes, providing the proper delivery of the Newton Fund activities managed by the British Council, monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the projects funded and ensuring compliance protocols were being followed. I also held correspondence with relevant Science & Technology authorities at the Federal and State levels.

I am currently working as a Consultant on collaboration projects related to ensuring food security and sustainable agri-food systems.

Regarding my personal interests, I am passionate about Science & Technology Policy, Behavioral Economics, Financial Inclusion through Technology, Behavioral Social Policy and the Internationalization of Higher Education.

Nice to e-meet you.
