About Minh

Hi, I had a solid background in mathematics and statistics. My bachelor's degree, master's degree, and Ph.D. degree involved mathematics. During my study and my working period as a Postdoctoral researcher, I taught many math courses ranging from freshman courses to graduate-level courses. The main courses I had great teaching and tutoring experiences are linear algebra, calculus, geometry, differential equations, discrete mathematics, and analysis, just to name a few. I also can have you with statistical and probabilistic problems, or some topics in data science as I am working in this industry.

My main tutoring style is to try to explain the general and key ideas that can help you to figure out how to approach the problems and solve them gradually. I would rather explain in detail and try to make analogies when it becomes necessary so that my student can absorb the techniques deeper. Giving out the answers is definitely not my teaching style. To me, helping students to improve their skills in math and broaden their viewpoints in looking at the subjects is way more important than just showing them the answers. Explicit examples are also a great deal to help students visualize abstract stuff in math. My points in teaching can be explained in a few words: make complex things become more natural and simple, many examples to help students memorize things naturally, and develop problem-solving skills better.
