Problem 1: The specification and calibration sheets for a combination linear position and velocity sensor are given in the appendix. Using the information provided in Table 1, determine the displacement and velocity that the sensor is measuring at the given instant in time. In addition determine the uncertainty for each of these readings. (Note: When available use properties given in the calibration sheet rather than the specifications sheet. The calibration sheet is specific the individual instrument, while the specification sheet cover all instruments of the same model). Table 1: Instrument Parameters Range (ni) 0 to 10 (in.) Appendix VP CE SERIES LINEAR VELOCITY AND POSITION Simultaneous velocity and position measurement The VP series combines a self-generating tachometer and a precision potentiometer to give an output of both velocity and analog position. Standard position output is a voltage divider circuit.
